He graduated from the University of Nairobi with a B.Sc. in Actuarial Science, is a member of the UON Alumni, Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments (CISI), Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analyst (ICIFA)

Industry Achievements and Developments

Eric has worked in the asset management industry with 3 Fund Management firms, for 12 years, in various roles along his career. During this time, his efforts have been instrumental in enabling company and industry development. These include, policy development and implementation, product development and market penetration.

On behalf of the respective firms, he sat in various industry committees and roundtable discussions with key market stakeholders and industry peers, to address development areas pertinent to the growth of the investment industry. He is an active committee member of the Fund Managers’ Association and  he has worked with various stakeholder including the Capital Markets Authority, Retirement Benefits Authority, National Treasury, Central Bank of Kenya, Nairobi Securities Exchange, Central Depository & Settlements Corporation (CDSC)

Employment Background

Britam Asset Managers

He was with the firm from 2011 to 2014. During this time he was part of the team that grew the business into new product lines and investment processes.

UAP Investments

Eric joined the company in 2014, a recently launched outfit, to help get the retail strategy off the ground by setting up and implementing a dealing/trading framework that would help the business achieve better portfolio returns and efficiency. The company experienced growth in the private wealth segment, attracting 1B in the first year.

Old Mutual Investment Group

He joined the group during the merger in 2015 and currently serves as Chief Investment Officer. In this time, he has represented OMIG in various capacities. OMIG currently manage over $2.5B in client assets ranging from, pensions, insurance, unit trusts, non-pension corporates and private wealth.
