Grace Mdemu
Grace is an impact-investing enthusiast with 11 years of experience in Capital Markets, Business Development, Internal Audit, Risk Management and Compliance Services in the Financial Sector within Africa. She has profound passion and experience in financial inclusion (SMEs finance) and sustainable finance in various thematic areas including climate finance and gender finance.
Grace works at Financial Sector Deepening Africa (FSD Africa) as an Associate, Capital Markets, where she supports various capital markets initiatives across Africa such as green bonds, gender bonds and SME funds among others.
Prior to joining FSD Africa, Grace worked a Business Development Officer at African Guarantee Fund (AGF) where she focused on originating deals, conducting due diligence, providing technical assistance and portfolio monitoring for Financial Institutions. Her worked extended to various sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, and construction particularly in green finance, women and youth owned SMEs. Prior to AGF Grace worked as Risk Consultant at KPMG East Arica, providing audit and advisory services to clients with different industrial backgrounds.
Grace is currently finalizing her master’s degree of Leadership in Sustainable Finance from Frankfurt School of Finance and Management. She also has an MBA (Strategic Management) and bachelor’s degree in International Business Administration and from the United States International University.
Grace is a certified expert in ESG and impact investing; Climate Adaption Finance, Agriculture Finance and Climate and Sustainable Energy Finance all from Frankfurt School of Finance and Management. She also holds a professional certificate in Market, liquidity, and Asset Liability Management,.
Grace’s work experience extends from Kenya, Tanzania Uganda, Ethiopia, to Malawi, Zambia, South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Namibia, Angola, Togo, and Nigeria.
Grace is also a licensed TEDx organizer and a mentor at the Bill Clinton Global Give Back Circle Foundation.
