Speaker Bio

Harry Masters

Harry is the Founder and Director of Advancing Green, an advisory firm dedicated to the promotion of sustainable growth, particularly through unlocking climate finance, steering clean energy transitions, and supporting organizations with ESG goals. Harry has over a decade of experience working in these areas, his work spanning market research, consulting, and impact investing.

He recently was Principal at Open Capital Advisors, where he led a large body of work in the renewable energy, energy transitions, and climate smart agriculture. He has led engagements for clients including the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the World Bank, Rockefeller Foundation, USAID, Shell Foundation, among others.

He has also directly advised investors on fund design and strategy, supported the development of pipeline opportunities, and conducted due diligence on relevant opportunities.

He has also directly advised companies working in the sector, in both capital raise engagements as well as growth and operational strategy. Prior to Open Capital, Harry worked on clean tech deals at SJF Ventures, in the Electricity Practice at Rocky Mountain Institute, and on renewable energy policy for the Government of Bermuda.

He holds an MBA from Kenan-Flagler Business School, a Master of Environmental Management from Duke University, and a B.A. in Public Policy and Environmental Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
