Jael Amati
Jael Amati has 13 years of experience advising the private sector in gender mainstreaming and women economic empowerment in Kenya and across sub-Saharan Africa. Currently, Jael leads the gender lens investing practice of AECF, the largest pan-African catalytic investor in climate mitigation and adaptation, renewable energy and agriculture. Jael works across AECF’s investment portfolio (over 415 investments in 26 countries over the past 10 years) to overcome the structural bias that exists in society today by tackling gender-based inequalities, as well as youth unemployment that threatens to undermine their demographic dividend.
Prior to joining AECF, Jael was involved in bringing gender perspectives in the private sector at local, regional, and national levels. She is a member of the Arise Investor Working group and the GBV Regional Working Group, among others. Jael strongly believes that promoting gender equality and women leadership in business can improve performance and sustainability.
